Important Referral Reminder

It is a Medicare/Medicaid requirement that all diagnostic procedures performed must be specifically ordered in writing by a physician who treats the patient. We are also now finding that many other insurance companies are expecting that patients will have a written order for all MRI testing. Please remember to note that the patient was referred for a MRI scan in your office documents and give the patient a written order as well. If more convenient please fax the order prior to your patient's exam. Our fax number is (781) 279-0869.
Also please note that some insurers, including Harvard/Pilgrim and CIGNA/Healthsource, mandate that we must have a pre-certification number prior to our making your patient's appointment.

Advantages for Referring Physicians

Convenient Appointment Times: The booking office is open 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday-Saturday and Sundays 8:00 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Please call 781-279-2213.
Turnaround Time for Results: Studies are read promptly by full time on-site radiologist with reports available within 24 hours. Stat reporting of results will be FAXED to the referring physician's office.
Physician Consultations: A board certified radiologist is available Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and weekends 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for telephone consultations regarding MRI needs and applicability.
